Paul-Michael was born in Freeport, Texas in 1982. After attending Brazoswood High School, Paul-Michael graduated from Texas A&M University where he received a double major in History and Philosophy. Paul-Michael next studied the history of the American Southwest and the U.S.—Mexico borderlands at Southern Methodist University. While in graduate school, Paul-Michael attended the Christian Spanish Academy in Antigua, Guatemala for three months. Paul-Michael’s graduate education culminated in a primary-source driven thesis that explored Lyndon Johnson’s congressional correspondence from 1937-1939 and revealed how LBJ used rural electrification and hydro-electric dam construction as the catalyst for growing his patronage-based political team. After graduate school and prior to attending law school, Paul-Michael coached soccer and cross county and taught high school civics and history at Angleton High School for three years. During his time in law school Paul-Michael clerked at both a prominent criminal defense firm and at one of the oldest plaintiffs/Jones Act firms in the Houston-Galveston area. Additionally, while in law school Paul-Michael earned the highest grade in his environmental law class. After law school, Paul-Michael worked for an insurance defense firm in Houston before joining Hope & Causey.

Paul-Michael currently serves as the Systems Manager for the Society of St. Stephen in Brazoria County, a local charity that assists people with utility payments. He and his wife, a licensed architect, currently reside in Houston with their two dogs, Sam Houston and Juno. Paul-Michael, a dual-descent 5th generation Texan, enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and reading about Texas history in his spare time.
